Graduate Trainee Vacancies at Kenya Revenue Authority 2013

KRA is inviting Kenyan graduates for their January 2013 management trainee intake.

To qualify for the graduate intake, one should fulfill the following requirements.
  • Kenyan Citizens aged not more than 27 years.
  • Hold First Degree of minimum Upper Second Class Honors distinction from a reputable University with specialization in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, ICT or Science related fields.

The closing date is on 11th January 2013 and applications that include certificates should be emailed or dropped at KRA offices Times Tower.
With over 20,000 fresh graduates each year, the graduate trainee advert is bound to elicit many a response.

KRA being a national institution, it will be forced to adhere to regional and ethnic balancing.Competition will be stiff with less than 200  slots available.

Successful applicants sit for a Math and English aptitude test then proceed to the Administration Police Training College for a 3 month physical and security training program.Thereafter, they will proceed to Kenya Revenue Authority’s Training Institutes in Nairobi and Mombasa for classwork.

COUNTY CAMPAIGN MONITOR VACANCY AT IEBC- 47 POSTS


Duties/Responsibility
The incumbent will be administratively answerable to the IEBC Regional Elections Coordinator (REC) and his/her duties will
include:-
  • Monitoring existence of political parties offices and relevant records at the county level
  • Coordinating sensitization of political parties at the county level
  • Monitoring engagement of political parties in illegal activities including violence and bribery during campaigns;
  • Monitoring political parties internal nominations
  • Coordinating training of political parties candidates and agents
  • Monitoring compliance with the Political Parties Code of Conduct
  • Monitoring compliance with provisions of the Political Parties Act
  • Ensuring that no public officer is an official of a political party
  • Monitoring use of public resources by political parties during campaigns.
Job Description
  • Holds a bachelors degree from a recognized university and at least three years working experience
  • Be Kenyan citizen
  • Have analytical skills
  • Be competent in report writing
  • Previous experience in electoral and political parties reforms will be an added advantage
  • Be ready and willing to work anywhere in Kenya.

  • Terms of Employment

    CCM will be contracted job for a duration of three months and  a wage of Kshs. 3,000 per day

    Requirements
    • KCSE – Aggregate C- or Division III and above;

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·    Responsible for implementation of projects and enhancements to existing systems
    ·    Responsible for support of the system
    ·    Perform coding and testing
    ·    Assist in conducting the technical feasibility study, analyze user requirements and recommend solutions.
    ·    Ensure all applications are developed according with the system Development lifecycles
    ·    Able to learn new technologies and develop prototypes using these technologies
    ·    Develop systems documentation including technical manuals, user manuals
    ·    Deploy and train on the applications developed
    ·    Work as a team member with other technical staff, business and customers to clearly understand and anticipate their requirements ensuring inter operability and compatibility with various systems.
    ·    Be able to manage a team.


    Qualifications and skills required
    ·    The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    ·    Three (3) years experience in banking or credit/debit cards systems
    ·    Strong technical skills and knowledge on switch application, in particular ISO 8583 protocols is mandatory for this role
    ·    Experience in Java, C++,HTML, ASP,J2EE, DB2, Oracle, SSL, MSQL and Delphi.
    ·    Experience with development and deployment on a Unix/Solaris/Linux and windows platforms.

    Qualification and skills

    ·         Must possess a Bachelors Degree in business related studies, Economics, Accounting or its equivalent.
    ·         Must be in possession of CPA (k) or its equivalent
    ·         Three (3) years hands on experience in card products transaction and settlement with commercial Banks
    ·         High level of Integrity and honesty
    ·         Ability to work as part of a team

    Qualifications and experience

    The qualifications and experience of the manager is as follows:-

    INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL AND BOUNDARIES COMMISSION (IEBC) VACANCIES FOR COUNTY RETURNING OFFICER (CRO), DEPUTY COUNTY RETURNING OFFICER (CRO) AND DEPUTY CONSTITUENCY RETURNING OFFICER

    1. County Returning Officer (CRO) (47 posts)

    The County Returning Officers (CROs) with the assistance of the Deputy
    County Returning Officers (CDROs) will be in charge the following:-

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Make all necessary arrangements for the nomination and tallying of
    results at the county;
    • Be the Returning Officer for the County during the general elections;
    • Handle nominations scheduled to take place at the county level i.e.
    nominations for candidates for the seat of Senator, County Women
    Representative and Governor;
    • Identify and inspect suitable polling, nomination and tallying centers.
    • Announce the results for the elections of Women representative,
    senator and Governor and to declare the winners of the same posts
    and issue the certifications;
    In addition, the CROs will submit the hard copies of the declared results
    to the Chairman of the IEBC for the purposes of official declaration of the
    winners.
    Requirements and Qualifications

    • CROs should be Graduates of at least ten years working experience
    in the public or private Sector;
    • Must be Computer literate;
    • Must have excellent computation and tallying ability;
    • Must be of good character with no political affiliation at all;
    • Must be willing to work anywhere in the country;
    • Willing to work for long hours with minimal supervision; and
    • Persons must be of absolute integrity and willing to abide with the
    Commission’s code of Conduct, all electoral laws and regulations.
    Terms and conditions
    • CROs will be on short-term employment contract for the actual days
    worked but for a period not more than 60 days.
    • Wages will be Kshs. 3,000/= for each day worked with no additional
    benefits or allowances.

    2. Deputy County Returning Officer (CRO) (47 posts)

    The Deputy County Returning Officers (CROs) will deputize and report to
    the County Returning Officer (CRO):-

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Deputise the County Returning Officer in making all necessary
    arrangements for the nomination and tallying of results at the county;
    • Deputise the Retuning officer during the Nominations scheduled to
    take place at the county level i.e. nominations for candidates for the
    seat of Senator, County Women Representative and Governor;
    • Deputise the Retuning officer to identify, inspect suitable polling,
    nomination and tallying centers and share the list with the
    commission.
    • Deputise the Retuning Officer in announcing the results of Women
    representative, senator, and Governor, declare the winners of the
    same posts and award them with the certifications.
    Requirements and Qualifications
    • DCRO should have a Bachelor’s degree holder or diploma with at
    least six years managerial experience in public or private sector;
    • Must be computer literate;
    • Computation ability will be an added advantage;
    • Must be of good character no political affiliation;
    • Must be willing to work anywhere in the country;
    • Willing to work for long hours with minimal supervision; and
    • Persons of high integrity and willing to abide with the Commissions
    code of conduct.

    3, Deputy Constituency Returning Officer (290 Posts)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Deputise the Constituency Returning Officer (RO) in making all
    necessary arrangements for the holding of an election.
    • Deputise the RO in visits to all polling stations to consult with
    respective authorities and assess their suitability and availability for
    polling on the scheduled dates and time.
    • Deputise the RO in appointing the presiding officers, deputy
    presiding officers and clerks to perform prescribed duties.
    • Deputise the RO in planning and executing training of all election
    staff and facilitate their swearing in, training of candidates’ agents
    and briefing of observers.
    • Deputise the RO in planning for inspection of transport and
    deployment of staff.
    • Deputise the RO in the preparation of materials deployment plan.
    • Deputise the RO in identifying a suitable facility for receiving, tallying
    and declaration of results as well as secure custody of retrieved
    materials and equipment.
    • Deputise the RO in setting up an Elections Information
    Communication Management Center.
    • Deputise the RO in the setting up of Constituency Results
    Transmission Center.

    Requirements and Qualifications
    DROs should be Bachelor’s degree holders or diploma holders with;
    • At least six years experience in public or private sector;
    • Must be computer literate;
    • Computation ability will be an added advantage;
    • Must be of good character with no political affiliation;
    • Must be willing to work anywhere in the country;
    • Willing to work for long hours with minimal supervision; and
    • Persons of high integrity and willing to abide with the Commissions
    code of conduct.
