Job summary:

 Reporting to the Commissioner Technical Support Services, the Deputy Commissioner Marketing and
Communication will be responsible for leading marketing and communication initiatives, with the primary aim of entrenching a tax payment culture among Kenya's tax paying publics   

Key responsibilities:
o    Lead the development and implementation of the KRA’s marketing and communication strategy ensuring alignment to the overall business plan to support revenue collection.
o    Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that enhances KRA’s image.
o    Oversee the articulation of KRA’s desired image and position and assure consistent communication of the same both internally and externally
o    Coordinate media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
o    Responsible for conceptualizing, developing and executing of internal and external communication projects that support the strategic and operating goals of the business.
o    Oversee the formulation and implementation of departmental budgets and regular review and enhancement of internal controls.
o    Responsible for establishing, managing and maintaining transformative networks with internal and external stakeholders.
o    Provide leadership and undertake efficient and effective management of staff to ensure departmental targets are achieved.
o    Perform any other duties as may be required

Graduate Trainee Vacancies at Kenya Revenue Authority 2013

KRA is inviting Kenyan graduates for their January 2013 management trainee intake.

To qualify for the graduate intake, one should fulfill the following requirements.
  • Kenyan Citizens aged not more than 27 years.
  • Hold First Degree of minimum Upper Second Class Honors distinction from a reputable University with specialization in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, ICT or Science related fields.

The closing date is on 11th January 2013 and applications that include certificates should be emailed or dropped at KRA offices Times Tower.
With over 20,000 fresh graduates each year, the graduate trainee advert is bound to elicit many a response.

KRA being a national institution, it will be forced to adhere to regional and ethnic balancing.Competition will be stiff with less than 200  slots available.

Successful applicants sit for a Math and English aptitude test then proceed to the Administration Police Training College for a 3 month physical and security training program.Thereafter, they will proceed to Kenya Revenue Authority’s Training Institutes in Nairobi and Mombasa for classwork.
