Our Kenyan client is in the Advertising Industry, producing promotional material. They are looking to employ a Fashion Designer.
Duties & Responsibilities for A Fashion Designer:
Develop and create new designs for clothing range and accessories
Sketch rough and detailed drawings of accessories and write specifications such as colour schemes, material type, and accessory requirements
Work with tailors and other workers to convert designs into concrete samples
Develop a group of products and/or accessories
Identify target markets for designs
Select materials and production techniques to be used for products
Guide and direct workers involved in drawing and cutting patterns and making the garments/accessories
Pilot test samples
Possibly get involved in marketing the designs
Required skills and qualifications:
Diploma or a degree in fashion and design from a reputable organization
Minimum 2 years experience in a fashion and design environment
Experience in a Manufacturing set up will be an added advantage
Excellent skills in Design
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Must be creative and innovative
Must be fast and accurate
Must have a portfolio/samples of previous work

Internship Job Description
The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), is seeking to fill the job of Admin Internship  at the CIAT-TSBF office in Nairobi. The internship will be for a period of three (3) months under the general supervision of the HR/Administration Officer and the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant. The position is intended to assist the intern gain knowledge in the area of administration and gain experience in an international multi-cultural environment.
Admin Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in updating various databases (assets, personnel, students and service providers)
Assist in analyzing quotations from service providers in Kenya
Assist in tracking the flow of documents into and out of the administration office in Kenya
Assist in filing of procurement and other documentation in administration
Assist in preparations for meetings and workshop documentation
Assist with travel bookings as may be required
Perform any duties as may be assigned by the HR/Administration Officer or the Administrative Assistants
Criteria for Success
Must be able to work under pressure but at the same time pay attention to details and meet deadlines
Must be willing to learn, be flexible and able to adapt quickly to new and diverse environment
Possess good ability with databases and respect confidentiality
Strong ability to co-ordinate, prioritize and organize workload and to take initiative
Good organizational and multi-tasking skills with a positive attitude and a strong service orientation
Good communication skills
Job Requirements
Continuing Degree or Diploma in Business Administration
Completed degree or diploma in administration not more than three months ago
Proficiency in Ms Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, etc)
